I sift the ashes of the past
dredging up things of the past
damage the future while dredging
heart broken no matter what
how deep is this cut
how long before it heals
how long before I trust what is real
should i move on, I am hedging
half past a quarter to eleven
now ten to the hour of three
time crawls when it is just me
me versus the past, who will outlast?
